I'm very blessed to be a part of Autisable, but one thing kept creeping up over the past several months...
I was in a conversation with someone who kept referring to 'your blog'. It didn't truly dawn on me that they weren't talking about my blog, but rather Autisable and someone else's blog post that was highlighted on the main page.
What caused this epiphany?
Well, they were commenting about some of the posts we've highlighted on the main page. What they didn't realize was that these posts were by @briellelacosta, @stuartduncan, @autismspeaks, or even @autismsociety or even hundreds of other folks who blog on Autisable.
I don't know why, as each posts author is highlighted in the right hand column. (that would be me with my son Short Stack in the profile pic at the time of this post).
This small level of confusion isn't too common, but as the audience and userbase of Autisable grows, the subject does come up with people I talk with.... and that's ok.
But, being the constant blogger that I am, I have to clarify - which blog, I have several?
My blog on Autisable is 'joel.autisable.com'. It's just one of hundreds, if not thousands, of accounts on this site.
I also have accounts on most of the other Xanga Network sites, along with writing for other websites.
As the conversation continued for a couple of more minutes, people usually catch on rather quickly into how diverse Autisable is - and how much of a community we really are on this site.
It's nice when people 'get it'.
Thanks to all who are a part of Autisable... I'm glad you 'get it'.
