  • #autismconf: Berkshire Hills Music Academy

This morning I'm writing this post while listening to a great CD, filled with music played by the folks at the Berkshire Hills Music Academy.

As I've been walking around the 2012 National Autism Conference, I came across this booth and talked with them about what they do.

Based in South Hadley, Massachusetts, Berkshire Hills serves the Community by focusing on the students abilities and aptitudes rather than upon their deficits.

Although they have this 40-acre property in Massachusetts - they do accept applications and serve students from around the Nation.

For more information - check out their website at: http://www.berkshirehills.org/  or their facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Berkshire-Hills-Music-Academy/324727700549

With all the programs that they offer, their main philosopy provides a platform to promote self-efficacy and job readiness and ofcourse to cultivate abilities in the performing arts.

Does your child have a leaning towards music?  Check it out, let me know what you think.
