Just like
last week, I came up with today's post while getting ready for church. I was preparing our clothes while Madison was preparing her
worship bag. I realized that the tip that has made the most difference in our homeschool has been to be prepared for that's days lessons. Nothing will frustrate you more than everyone is ready to go but you don't have all the necessary items. OR the day ends and you realize that you didn't get all the lessons done.
What I like to do is look at my lesson planner and set out all the items on the table. Anything I need for that lesson is put in the pile. For Latin, this would be our cd, Teacher's manual, student handbook and flashcards. For botany, teacher's manual, student's handbook and whatever we need for the experiments. You get the idea. Not only does it help me be more organized but it is a visual reminder of what work needs to be done. The children know that when the pile is gone we are done with our together lessons. This only pertains to our together lessons. All independent work is in their boxes at the beginning of the week. That is another post entirely.
