"Thanks" to the Neighbor Giving Out Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans
Thanks friendly neighbor for giving my ADHD, ASD, OCD boys chocolate covered coffee beans… either they are for me, then AWESOME! I love you! Or you can’t read Spanish, in which case you are an idiot for buying candy and you don’t know what it is.
Or you’re just an asshole and you thought it would be funny to give coffee beans to children. I am HOPING that these were intended for me and that you’re not an idiotic asshole who buys things in gourmet aisle just to say you bought your neighbor kids gourmet chocolate covered coffee beans.
Now that I am done with my bitching, I am thoroughly enjoying these coffee beans. I really needed that pick me up.
PS. Don’t forget to check their bags parents. You just might end up with kids who wont go to bed tonight.

I love Chocolate Coffee beans!
You want some cheese with that whine?
Ya... that's a little over the top. All the candy has so much sugar in it that most kids will probably be awake but COFFEE BEANS make it a lot worse.
Uh, overreacting just a little. I don't think the neighbor checked what every child in the neighborhood might have. And since when does a kid go to bed early on Halloween anyway? They're up all night eating candy. Chocolate has caffeine in it, too. You can't expect the world to look out for you kids, and in this case, you were looking out for your own kids and you caught this before your kids at them. So, that's a non-issue. I don't think that makes him an asshole. He was generous enough to participate in trick or treat anyway.
Yeah you're overreacting. I agree with hollowhopes .. you should be lucky your child even was given candy so who are you to be picky about what your child gets. Sheesh, take a look at yourself.
I remember when I was a kid my parents always checked my Halloween candy for anything inappropriate. And then there was always that pile of candy I didn't like that I would trade with my brother and friends. I don't ever remember anyone having a fit over something they got for free from begging. There's always that kid with the peanut allergy who ends up with a few Snickers that the parents have to take away. Should I now spend a ton of money on candy to be certain I have the appropriate item for each individual who comes to my door? If this is going to be the prevailing attitude towards Halloween trick-or-treating I think I'll just turn off my light and not give out anything.
I wasn't allowed to have gobstoppers when I was younger because of the time my sister choked on one, but that doesn't make my neighbors assholes for passing them out. My mom just checked our candy and threw them out. Wow, that worked like magic, no more choking on gobstoppers.
get a life.
@hollowhopes@xanga - Chocolate doesn't have caffeine---- (http://www.xocoatl.org/caffeine.htm)
but i agree.
YOU ARE THE PARENT. THE NEIGHBOR IS NOT. They can give out the candy they fucking want because guess what? IT'S WHAT YOU DO ON HALLOWEEN.
It's up to the PARENT to make sure they aren't getting this. It would be YOUR FAULT if your children ate them.
jeesh..
Wow, if you had told me about all their conditions, I would have given them each a vial of methylphenidate. Sorry about that!
well if you think about it, it -may- have cruel intentions to it.
but still this sounds like a major overreaction, they probably only had those at home; they don't NEED to give out anything either.
all the sugar from the chocolate will make kids hyper anyway.
LOL sucks to be you
I don't see how its an overreaction. I used to babysit kids who didn't have ADD or ADHD or anything and I dreaded giving them anything caffeinated because I knew how crazy they would get.
Sorry, I just had to say that I love when someone who's seriously self absorbed makes a post to complaing about how "horrible" someone is for not realizing that the poster is the center of the universe and they expect sympathy....yet the comments all point out what a self absorbed jerk you are.
Sorry that your neighbor was nice and handed out candy to your kids - hopefully word gets around your neighborhood and everyone refuses to give your kids anything in the future.
Jeez calm down, maybe he thought it would be fun to give out something unique for a change and didn't really think of the fact that they have caffeine in them. I doubt you're important enough for him to go out of his way to make things inconvenient for you like that.
And when you send your child out to get a bunch of SUGAR FILLED candy, you really don't have a good reason to complain.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wait...do you eat the beans? I'm confused..
Wouldn't bags full of sugary treats also be bad for your children? Why are you letting them trick or treat at all?
Boo fu#ing hoo.
Yeah, the neighbor probably shouldn't have given out coffee beans (i would have been thrilled to have gotten them though lol) that's also kinda weird but you also have the responsibility to check the kids bags before they eat anything. It's not a big deal that you missed it though and it's not a big deal in general. one night of extra hyper kids i think you can handle it. be a big girl.
Okay, you got the refined sugar and the caffeine in chocolate itself, and you complain about the only natural thing in the candy?
lol
Maybe he specifically intended them to be found by the parent as a treat for a typically child-filled event.
Relax..
did you call 9-wa-wa for a waambulance after that happened? or wait... you didn't have to because you're making a mountain out a molehill.
