When sensory seeking behaviour goes very wrong

So today, after a fun 90 minutes at the park with Daddy, my girls came home and headed straight out into our backyard to play.
I warned them against playing with water, as I’d already cleaned up wet & slightly muddy children once today.
My warning was either not heeded or forgotten as 30 minutes later I heard the tap running and discussions about a ‘chocolate waterfall’…
discussions which resulted in buckets of mud poured down the path so the girls could slide along it, which turned out to be fun in a muddy way, but slightly painful, and once again we were in need of bathing.
Do know what I find most impressive – Annie manages to get herself muddy as, yet her hair remains stylish and neat (albeit slightly muddy)

This is adorable. I was thinking this might be about something much much worse, especially when I saw the brown in the picture. Mud days are fun for kids of any age!
:D She is so sweet! Chocolate waterfalls sound like fun!
Gotta let them be kids while they can ! So cute !
I used to love to play in the mud, when we would go camping, my mom and I would have mud fights, she always said her skin felt great after
i clap for the girl to still have stylish hair while muddy :)
@starcrossedloversdivine@xanga - Mud days are fun, although slightly trying when they get covered head to toe in mud up to 3 times a day and insist on getting changed and bathing each time.
And yes, it could have been a much worse brown substance, we've had those days :: shudder ::
@SasGal@xanga - It was fun until sliding down the path got a bit scratchy and ouchy.
@HopeWithinReach@xanga - Mud fights would be fun :D I loved helping my friends work with clay when they were creating ceramics, very soothing.
@cheesecakeloverk@xanga - they were having so much fun, until the path they were sliding down got scratchy and ouchy.
I try to remind myself when the 3rd load of muddy clothing hits the washing machine for the day that they will only be muddy kids for a short time. Bit more challenging when it is winter and everything takes longer to dry.
@Islandgirl566@xanga - got to remain stylish, even while getting a mud facial
@katesaysstuff@twitter - warmer weather would make for less changes of clothes too I think as they wouldn't be so uncomfortably cold once wet. Bring on spring and summer :)
Haha aww. Cute.
That picture reminds me of my brother after he jumped into a muddy marsh at low tide to retrieve a shoe. x'D ohh good times. Yeah that seems pretty fun. The best part is getting clean again after!
wow... that's great family time! cute! - Voyance
