  • Summer = swim lesson time, again.

It's summer, and swim lesson time again. For James' sister. Over the past four years, keeping him safely put while waiting for the swim lessons to end has been a challenge.

At least for the first two years, he was fine hanging out in the stroller. Last year I had to chase him, as he would not stay put. This year, he'll stay seated, but heaven help us if there's a pen laying out (and there always is):

Meanwhile, we'll just keep swimmin' swimmin' swimmin' ...

     --------------
How often do you go swimming?

Our problem would have been keeping Nolan OUT of the POOL!  We could never give a sibling swim lessons without him making contact with the water.  Glad you were successful (and that his artistic spontineity was the least of your worries).

Heaven help you if there's a pen laying out?  I dunno if you can afford to bring another pad of paper with you so he can get creative with the pen without messing up anyone else's forms, but if you can then maybe that'll be a win-win situation?  :)

    I agree!  :)

OK, now that's 2 kids in this thread who need supervision during their sibs' swimming lessons.  Which makes perfect sense, autism or no autism.  I hope that soon they can take age-appropriate ability-appropriate swimming lessons of their own too, the better to be safe around water  :)
