Please Help! - GF/CF diet
I'm looking at going onto a gluten free/casein free diet to see if it will help with behavioral problems. What kinds of foods can I eat, and what should I avoid?
I'm thinking rice milk or soy milk will be safe, as well as potato bread, but not sure about anything else.
Anyone have some ideas?

We have been doing the GFCF diet for over a year. I have LOADS of info about it. Let me know if you'd like to talk and maybe we could email each other about it? All the best to you!
I have celiac, so I'm gluten free since last october. Mexican food is good, corn tortillas & corn tortilla chips are fun to munch on with beans & shredded meats, spanish rice. Vietnamese food is also pretty safe bcause there's alot of rice-based and rice noodle-based meals, just stay away from the soy sauce. There's alot of g-free cookies/ mixes, but at first I would recommend staying simple with your meals until you're more comfortable with what you can & can't have. At first, we had alot of roast chicken & rice, meat & potatoes, etc. meals

This is a book our naturopathic doctor recommended. It has all the 'what you can and can't eat' information and 100's of delicious recipes. Hope it helps!
I have a gluten intolerance and I've been gluten free for about a year now. I've gotten really into mexican food. Corn shell tacos and what not. Also, there are tons of brands of gluten free breads. I highly recomend all Udi's products. Their breads and bagels are delicious. I personally eat oats, but it is debateable whether they are truly gluten free or not.
be careful with choosing this diet! gluten free products can be harmful to your body because of all of the extra processed ingredients. eat more from the other food groups instead of substituting with junk gluten-free foods, and make sure to focus on getting fiber from your vegetables due to the sudden lack of whole grains. good luck though, I hope it helps! my favorite soy milk is West Soy unsweetened! lowest in sugar and carbs!
Store-bought potato bread has wheat flour in it.
I'm allergic to wheat, though not a celiac, but in the process of my diagnosis I learned a lot. Things to remember: Ingredient lists are your friend. So is extreme cleanliness in the kitchen. And best of all, if you go for unprocessed food, there are a lot more things you can eat. Good luck!
You have to be careful because potato bread is not always gluten free. Be sure to read the labels carefully to find any "hidden" sources of gluten like some types of caramel coloring (can be made from barley extracts) and other things. You should google "hidden sources of gluten". Also, beware that some people have the same reaction to even pure and gluten-free oats as they do wheat because of a similar protein in it.
@sarahsmiles22@xanga - Omg, Udi's just came to my town around Christmas! THEY ARE SO GOOD.
