Bullies get away with tormenting an Aspergers teen.
Reading the news often makes me feel utterly sick and feels me with total terror, so I do try to avoid it as often as seemingly possible. But its everywhere you don’t even need to tune into a news station on the television or radio, pick up a paper or search the internet, because networks such as the all to popular Twitter and good old Facebook have become news broadcasters in their own right. It’s considered a fact that these social networking sites give us the news before its even aired on the national news! More then likely before the journalist has even got his foot through the door of the all to often “Crime Scene” So I guess the term “Seemingly Possible” was a draft dizzy expression to make!
So yesterday I’m trolling through my Facebook, like to many of us do! Only to come across a disgusting, stomach wrenching news-feed updated by one of my favorite pages “The National Autistic Society!” The, Headline reads:
“This week, three men who brutally attacked a 17 year-old with Asperger syndrome were let off with just 80 hours of community service.”
Clicking on the link provided I found myself faced with total shock horror. This countries justice system was truly confirmed the joke we all suspected it to be. Believe me, I’m not just ranting because this boy who was so brutally attacked in a sickening three day ordeal was on the autism spectrum (Though yes this is a major part of it!) But I would also rant if the person subjected to this degree of torture was what societies describes as, “Neurotypical” However this crime was inflicted on a person who was vulnerable and “disabled” Making this one ghastly disability hate crime!
” WARNING! LEAVE NOW IF YOU DON’T WISH TO READ JUST HOW HORRIFIC THIS ATTACK ACTUALLY WAS!”
The three sick & twisted criminals known as Jack Bolton, Andrew Griffin, and Nathan Marshall, all 18 years of age, from Manchester (uk) & known to the police, subjected their 17 year old autistic terrified victim through an unendurable attack, why filming it on their mobile phones. They filmed themselves proudly torturing their teenager victim. The victim who has a diagnosis of Aspergers (a form of autism) was treated in such an inhuman way that it is a total disbelieve that they were not sent to jail to rot. The Scumful three pelted their victim with dog mess, scratched his limbs with sandpaper, kicked and jumped on his head, beat him with a tennis racket and then forced him to drink vodka and gin until he passed out. A National Newspaper The Daily Mail wrote:
Mobile phone footage showed the yobs laughing and joking as they made him endure other abuse and, in a final humiliating assault, they applied adhesive tape to his genital area before ripping the tape off.It is in my opinion that after reading this story, posted by the Daily Mail and the National Autistic Society’s Facebook page “Judge Jonathan Geake” who imposed this despicable insulting “so called sentence” of three-month curfews and ordered them to carry out 80 hours’ unpaid community work as ‘an intensive alternative to custody’ is a prime example of what our justice system is today. “AN UTTER JOKE!”
The victim will live with this horrid disturbing attack for the rest of his live. My guess is he has been left with no confidence or trust in the human race. Instead he is left with just a body crippled by fear. How will this teenage boy ever live a full and independent life now? Yet these beast are allowed to roam our streets, serving a mere 80hrs community service. 80hrs is just a little over three days. Is it bad enough they were not sent to rot in their cell but instead be given a sentence of painting youth clubs or even worse maybe in our schools amongst our vulnerable children some likely with Aspergers the same condition as their victim! Yet this so called community service order, that is an insult to the word punishment is for a period not even totally four days in total! (If added together that is.) Gosh I give my children a harder punishment for fighting with one another. I’m not stating I know what and where such community service will be served! I’m merely stating that we as a nation see it all to bloody often. Giving something back to the community! Is a term used all to often within our failing justice system. “Yer right” Are they planing to give that young victim his life back? Give him the confidence to go out and meet people, walk the streets free from fear of unprovoked attacks from monsters like these scum-bag offenders? “NO, I THOUGHT NOT!”The Daily mail online state that Senior police officers and an MP have branded Judge Jonathan Geake sentence “a joke” and like the National Autistic Society, have called for the sentence to be reviewed. I wrote a little bit about bullying recently, the school system does nothing. So we shouldn't tell kids that they could go and tell to a teacher because let's be honest, it never helps. You can't stop bullying, children will always be scum. Mean kids will always be there, and they will always pick on those weaker than themselves.
There's no psycho-analyzing a bully. As someone who's been picked on, teased and even SPAT on, these kids knew EXACTLY what they were doing.
That is so awful. Sometimes I do not know what is wrong with our justice system! People who torture and do such horrible things to others and their victims and let off with such light sentences, but the ones who break simple laws are sentenced for many years. I don't care how old the bullies were, they are old enough to know right from wrong.
@OstentatiousEloquence@xanga - Are you talking about the US or the UK? Because I think the huge problem with the United States is that we don't teach children how to do anything more than react, as you did, rather than read and pay attention to content.... it would seem you're talking about a completely different country with a different legal system. More importantly, if you read the above thoroughly or went to the external link then you'd realize that there is outrage, and there are people doing something about it.
@ncxcorexkid@xanga - If you strip away their right to the freedom of speech then you give them more power. When forced underground, ideology becomes more militant. Those people can then point to something the government has done specifically and say: here, here is the evidence of repression. Allowing them to proselytize in the open means that people who share their hatred, but to a "lesser degree" are forced to confront the logical end of such hatred. Keeping crazy open and out allows people to see it for what it really is, rather than romanticizing it.
80 hours of community service?? well...these kids will get it for sure, by karma, or by someone...
@apathy_sucks@xanga - Like I said, people should be protesting on the streets instead of what I'm doing here (which is not what I'd consider any type of active protesting)- which is, commenting on an article/forum/blog in a completely anonymous and inconsequential way. These boys should have to fear for their lives when they walk out of their homes.
Are you kidding me? All they got was 80 hours of community service so they can go torture another human being??? This disgusts me beyond belief!
I honestly think money has a lot to do with the sentence that was handed out.

Not that I'm saying their punishment is adequate, but with the current budget cuts and the severe overcrowding in Britain's jails as it is, there's probably no room for them in prison. Our prisons are already overcrowded and underfunded. Where are they going to go? The lack of money in the system is not the judges fault. He probably can't send too many people to jail, because the government simply cannot afford to keep them there.
@Fatal_Lightning@xanga - lol Not trying to troll. I am not trivializing it by any means, just saying it doesn't shock me that much. The main reason it doesn't shock me that much is the U.S., where I grew up, is the most violent "modernized" country on the planet. Hitting him, putting tape on him, and making him drink are not that violent of acts.

Someone who was driving drunk and killed a man and then lied to the cops only got her sentence down from 8 to 4 years today.
I think intoxicated driving should be an automatic 20+ years.I also think that prison needs to be living hell. Dude, Charles Manson has a twitter. Nice life he lives in prison.

@apathy_sucks@xanga - Oh, I'm all for free speech. You can't give it to Westboro and strip it from an animal right's group as demonstrated from my two links. It's complete and utter bullshit. Eco-terrorism is bullshit. The government is bullshit. They're picking and choosing what laws to uphold and for whom.
Only TWO websites wrote about the ARAs getting throw in jail. One was the blogger whom I linked to and the other was some newspaper writing about that guy and how only he covered it. But, no one gives a damn about animals.

Those 3 boys were 18 years old, they are adults and they need to have at least 1 WHOLE YEAR of community service as punishment...Not 80 hours.. >_

Hopefully this leads to something. Prayers with that poor boy. And honestly, prayers for these awful people and their families... to live life and think this is ok to do is simply unacceptable and I surely hope God shows them how to live life properly and feel remorse for their actions.

It scares me to think that this could very well have been my on nephew. Hell, I received some serious bullying when I was a kid, because of my Tourette's, but nothing anywhere near what the kids do to one another today. I swear something more needs to be done about all of this.

motherfukers! when society allows the endless bullying of aspies, they do it at their own risk. When aspies cant take any more some will pick up a gun and goto school and shoot people. The schools are outright supporters of bullying......active supporters ...i have come to discover the hard way.
