I went to the
Crayola Factory twice in the last month. Both times with little nieces and nephews. It is a really fun, hands on place for kids. There are crafts for all ages, a few are age appropriate so you need to be able to work with the kids of the same age group.
They have hot wax that is fun to draw with
Lots of paper and glue to make seasonal crafts. Here they made "Surfing Gingerbread Men"
There was a big chalk walk to draw on
My favorite place was where you work with "
Model Magic", it is white but you can use markers to blend into the clay to make colors

She made me laugh, afraid to put down the tool, people grabbed stuff up pretty quick, she kept what she had. We all had fun making things.
My niece made a dog
The first thing I do is make a few colors to work with, then I make food!
A little boy came to see what I was doing, he was really shy but I talked to him as I worked.
He listened but never said a word. He ran back to his table and would come back again.
After a while he came back and stared at the yellow clay I made for the mustard,
finally he pointed to it. I asked him if he needed some,
I said "Did you make a hotdog?", he nodded.
I cut a piece of yellow and rolled it and gave it to him.
He disappeared but soon returned for ketchup also.
I finally asked him his name...he whispered "Tyler" to me.
I went to see what he made on our way to the next station, he proudly showed it to me.
He had finished his hot dog and had started making a cupcake.
I gave him colors to make sprinkles for his cupcake.
I said "Bye Tyler, it was good to meet you" and his parents
looked at me and asked how I knew his name, I said he told me.
They said he is autistic and he doesn't talk very often and mainly talks to them.
They said it was amazing that he talked to me.
I felt like it was a little miracle, that just made my day.

Thanks for posting this, it was one of those times I will always remember.
What a beautiful story! I'm sure Tyler will remember you as the nice lady at the Crayola place who helped him when he was having a difficult time communicating.
You have a great way with kids!

I remember going to the Crayola Factory when I was in elementary school (about 10-12 years ago). The modeling magic was my favorite station, and where you could draw on the walls. :)
Such a cute story, good for you!
1) This sounds like so much fun, even for an adult, lol.
2) The ending nearly brought tears to my eyes. That is spectacular <3
Thanks for sharing this story! I am not surprised this boy trusted you enough to talk to you, though. You are a wonderful person.
