  • My little Rock Star

When the girls are quiet, they are up to mischief or they are asleep.  Im sure a lot of you think the same. LOL. In this one case, they were up to neither.

I was downstairs, washing dishes in the kitchen and the household was quiet. So I went upstairs and I hear my 6 year old half singing, half humming the lyrics to Raise your Glass by Pink.  As I get closer, and her singing becomes louder - she is wearing her fluffy beanie that Grandma made and using a brush as a microphone and singing to the mirror.

I smiled and my eyes got teared up.  I loved this moment.

She has always had a fascination with mirrors, she would make faces, laugh, and say babble and jargon to herself. And now she is playing Ms Rock Star!

I know she wants to play the guitar, because whenever we go to the store she sees the Guitar Hero displays, she plays it.  I would love to sign her up for guitar lessons, maybe even some piano lessons!  I want to open her eyes to the world of music!

I remember some time ago a little girl, Gina Marie Incandela singing the National Anthem in front of thousands of people.  And she was on the Spectrum, and didn't speak until she was three!  She gives me hope, because who knows maybe my daughter will be up there on stage singing for thousands, millions of people and giving hope to those who just begin on our ASD journey!
