Like most many things that my son accomplishes he does it quietly and without fan fare.. he learned to tie his shoe laces!
For the better part of the last two years my husband made it his mission to show my son the trick to tying his shoe laces. And my boy having fine motor issues would try but be easily bored by the whole affair and simply wait his daddy out cause he always tied it in the end. And there was always willing little sister who loved showing off he lacing tying skill LOL.
So you can imagine my shock when I made my daily statement that he tie his shoes and get ready for school and.... he did!
I looked around for his sister and his father but no it was just him and his tied shoes! I felt so proud of my babe. A shoe lace tying person at the tender age of nine!
I am sure you can feel me beam!

i still cannot tie my laces but i will do it one day :)
Josh took a long time to learn that too. It is those danged sequential steps that involve turning things around. I still tie my shoes "upside down" because I learned watching someone else do it facing me.
