Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. My son is 37 and wasn't diagnosed with Asperger's until he was 32. We were told with having autism, epilepsy amd severe learning disorders he would never llive alone. The professionals were wrong. Brandon has been living on his own fro the past 13 years. I love success stories.
Alot of these therapies have no proven benefit and are medically very dangerous for your child. What helps your child is a diet that gives them the vitamins and energy they need, and removing any allergy related foods. Exercise and above all the therapy. Lots and lots and lots of therapy. Autism cannot be cured. If you are born with an autistic brain you will have an autistic brain your entire life. What can happen is that when pain and discomfort are removed from your daily existance you are open to being able to absord the therapies that these persons need in order to learn what they can't on their own.
I have two boys with aspergers. The oldest was diagnosed with PDD at 5 he is now a sophomore in college, actually about to enter his junior year with a desire to go to law school. We did not use any biomeds but gave them what they needed without hocus pocus and mumbo jumbo. Get a real nutritionist, developmental pediatrician, neurologist and psychiatrist and really good therapists to help your child.Then in 15 years you can write a tory like mine.
