I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Judson Press. While I got the book for free, this is my honest review of it.
This book was awesome! It is a short read and the chapters are broken up fairly easy so you don't have to keep stopping and trying to remember where you are in the chapter ( am I the only one who has that problem?). The basic premise of the book is that she takes certain situations that come up because her son has moderate to severe autism and finds God in those situations. She is actively looking for something that God is trying to teach her constantly using her son with autism.
What I really liked about it was that she kept it real. She was very transparent in her writing about real situations and how she felt. It wasn't all about fun. She writes about difficult times as her son grew into an adult and how she felt about them. I could see myself in several of her situations and remember feeling that way too. The chapter on her son having no friends was an especially difficult one for me to read. That is by far my biggest fear for Logan.
I will definitely be passing this book on to several autism parents that I know. When you are in the throes of autism, you sometimes forget to look at the alleluias. There are always alleluias to be found. God will use these children for His Glory. We just have to get out of His way and look for the alleluias.
