  • Adapted Bowling and Family Fun

My daughter is still in Florida with my parents. I really miss her and so does my son. Yesterday, he was feeling bored and lonely. He requested that we go bowling as a family. It was a surprise because my son doesn't like bowling.

We used to go when he was younger, but he didn't like it. So, we stopped. Recently, my husband has been going on Fridays with some of the people he works with. Yesterday, when we asked my son what he wanted to do he replied on his keypad, "bowling."

I was more than happy to take him bowling. The bowling alley has special racks that children can use. My son still doesn't know how to throw a ball, and I have serious doubts that he would ever put his fingers in the holes of the bowling ball. Either my husband or I align the rack for our son and he will put it on the rack and push it down. My son has his own bowling ball, it was given to him at the bowling alley when we used to go regularly.

It was fun to watch him pick up his own ball without any help and he picked up quickly when it was his turn to play. I wish I had my camera with me. He had such a great time. He even was able to get two strikes. I hope we can go again next week. I love it when we can do things together as a family.

We also went around the stores. It was a little crazy, since it was Black Friday. I didn't buy anything, so I didn't have to fight with the crowds at the register. The only store that I wish that we had not gone into, was Wal-Mart. It was just too crowded. The good thing about was that there was two of us to keep an eye on our son. All in all, yesterday was great. I love it when we have days like this. I will never forget it.
